1/12/2018 Learn how to cut time spent on repetitive and complex tasks in Microsoft Word. With macros, you can record a sequence of steps and perform them with the click of a button. Macros are driven by Visual Basic, but you don't need to be a programmer to create them. Instructor Gini von Courter begins this course by showing you the easiest way to set up a basic macro in Word. She explains the basics of macro security, and shows how to view the macro code in the Visual Basic Editor. Next, Gini shows how to build more complex macros by incorporating Word building blocks. Then learn how to export and import macro modules. Finally, Gini demonstrates how to manage your macros and add them to your Word toolbar or ribbon. - [Gini] Welcome to Word: Automating Your Work with Macros.A Word macro is programming codethat directs Microsoft Word to take specific actions.Macros can be used for repetitive procedures, complex tasks, or a series of stepstaken each time an existing document is openedor a new document is created. Here's the great news. You don't need to be a programmer to create macros. You turn on Word's Macro Recorder, then take the actions you want to include, and Word writes the code.
During playback,Word follows your instructions the same way each time,so macros help us create very consistent documents. They also provide a way to capture business processesfor those infrequently used, complex documentsthat need extensive reformatting or modification.I'm Gini von Courter.Whether you're new to macrosor have created macros in other Office applications,I invite you to join me on this journeyinto the world of Word macros.
